COMMENTS About Me ...
Ina Sarcevic, Professor (University of Arizona)
PhD Advisor, 2006 - 2010
"Arif is not only an excellent doctoral student, but also an outstanding graduate teaching assistant. He has been teaching advanced courses to second and third year students. I believe that teaching and research go hand in hand and one should not be emphasized at the expense of the other. We should provide a stimulating environment for students, encouraging them to explore the unknown, to discover, and to achieve their highest level of academic excellence. Arif is a strong advocate of this approach too. He has that rare ability to acquire commanding knowledge of a subject matter and convey that knowledge to others quite fluently. He does this by employing innovative and creative teaching methods."
Matt S, Engineering Student,
Introductory Physics Lab (September 2004)

"I just wanted to thank Arif for his time and dedication to his work. I have had many TAs in the past that have done only the bare minimum in order to keep their jobs. Arif's section is much different from any lab I have had before. I have noticed that more of the lab time is spent on gaining an understanding of the concepts being covered rather than performing tedious tasks. Arif's grading style is also much better. I noticed Arif graded based on how well the material was understood rather than technicalities. I think this will help immensely by allowing us to spend more time learning and less time formatting papers and retyping things that are already in the manual. I have never had a TA who was so willing to help. Again, thanks, I appreciate Arif's dedication."
